Pernicious Deeds

"Even the influence of superstition is fluctuating and precarious; and the slave, whose reason is subdued, will often be delivered by his avarice or pride. A credulous devotion for the fables and oracles of the priesthood most powerfully acts on the mind of a barbarian; yet such a mind is the least capable of prefering imagination to sense, of sacrificing to a distant motive, to an invisible, perhaps an ideal object, the appetites and interests of the present world. In the vigor of health and youth, his practice will perpetually contradict his belief, till the pressure of age, or sickness or calamity awakens his terrors and compels him to satisfy the double debt of piety and remorse."

Edward Gibbon - Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire 1783

This has all happened before, what we're seeing in our culture, The West. It's languishing, it's slow rotting from the inside.

It occures when religion and masculinity, morality, ethics, virtues and tradition are abandoned to licentiousness and apathy.

It is a cycle (ka is a wheel, do ya ken it?) and will continue to turn.

A return to God, which requires strength, courage, mastery and honor, the tactical virtues, are hard, and He, the Lord, is to be reverenced.

To understand this requires a long study of that which was to understand that which will be.
